Wayne Anderson was born in 1946 in Leicestershire.
He attended Leicester College of Art for 4 years and
graduated in 1966. After leaving college he moved to
London for four years and established a reputation as
a freelance illustrator. He then moved back to Leicester
and worked from home. He still lives in Leicester working
at a nearby studio.

Wayne has had a number of books published based on
his ideas, these titles include Ratsmagic, awarded the
Gold Medal for the best illustrated childrens
book by the Society of American Illustrators and nominated
in Britain for the Hans Christian Anderson Award, The
Magic Circus and A Mouses Tale.
Books which Wayne has illustrated include The Magic
Inkstand, The Flight of Dragons, Thumbelina, Dragons,
Birdo and Through a Looking Glass (The Pictures of Wayne
Anderson) which features a twenty-five year retrospective
of his work. His work has also been animated for several
films, and he has held numerous exhibitions.
Waynes recent projects for Templar include: The
Tin Forest, The
Dragon Machine and December
Lane. Wayne co illustrated Dragonology and has
recently completed A Fish
Wish. He is currently collaborating on a new
title, Moon Dog, with Helen
Ward.
